Coire Walker has been playing guitar for 16 years and teaching professionally for 6 years. He received his degree from MI in Hollywood, CA in 2005. While there he studied under such greats as Paul Gilbert, Dan Gilbert, Dale Turner, David Oakes, Keith Wyatt, Ross Bolton and more. Coire has performed in numerous bands in CA, AZ, WA and the NYC area. His favorite styles of music are rock, blues, funk, and punk. Some of his musical influences include Mogwai, Sunny Day Real Estate, Elliott Smith, The Meters, Tom Waits, Radiohead, Brent Mason and Miles Davis. Coire currently lives, performs and teaches in the NYC area.

Within the last seven years, Coire has developed an effective, open-minded approach to teaching guitar. He makes lessons challenging and motivational, crafted around the individual goals and interests of the student. The lesson material presented is practical and relatable, then applied in the most musical way possible. Although students have input on the pace of their lessons, Coire will push his students when necessary in order for them to reach their full potential. Beginning students are shown proper technique and control of the instrument through music they enjoy in a personalized practice regiment. More advanced students will be challenged with a new approach towards their existing musical knowledge and experience, while pursuing the goals they desire. For all students, the principle objectives are to share and instill a passion for playing music, and to reveal the potential within each student. Coire currently teaches in the Brooklyn and Manhattan areas.
